So I have a few ideas and chances for getting together on the boil. They are:
I need to go down to Cardiff to do some research for a university assignment. I'm going to be spending a week down there from about the 13th to the 20th, so that I can see a band I like in a nearby town on the 14th (they're called the Shee, not Blue Gillespie. They're a very, very good celtic/folk band) and get back in time for likkle brother's birthday at the weekend.
My plans include visiting the Shrine, the Doctor Who Exhibition, Cardiff Castle, Flat Holm and at least one museum. I do need to hang out on my own for a bit and find out what Cardiff's like without an artificial tourist group there, but the more the merrier. I'll be staying in a youth hostel, I suspect, and if there's enough people are willing to do that then I can get in touch with some of them and find out if they could do us a room to ourselves and a discount, then we can have midnight feasts as well.
It would be totally awesome to get as many people there as possible, because you are all super cool.
There's a whole heap of awesome cool people up here in the North (yes, Birmingham is honorary North), plenty of us to have a pretty damn awesome party. Anyone who wants to meet up, I will glomp you enthusiastically. Whether that be a dozen of us in a Pizza Hut, half a dozen of us in a pub, or you, me and afternoon tea, I am ready and willing to play.
I want to go down to London over the summer to see the new Doctor Who exhibition, and I think it would be totally awesome if we went together. In cosplay.
If you agree with me, we can arrange a date and whatever. It'll be mega! I'm still waiting for a good offer to come up so that I can turn up to a hairdresser's with a photo of amy and say "I want hair like that". And I need to buy the policewoman's hat and things.
You know you want to
Yeah, my first Who love was the band, not the doctor. Anyway.
If you're passing through York, or feel live visiting this lovely, lovely city, I would be overjoyed to have you for dinner or to stay and to play tourguide.
Um... obviously I mean that I would love to cook dinner for you. I'm not from Bryn Blaidd. I have a sofabed (I might even have a comfy sofabed soon... But until then I'll be borrowing inflatable lilos) and I can cook without killing people, which I consider to be an advantage.
And if you have an more ideas, throw them at me.

Date: 2011-02-27 06:39 pm (UTC)I also have a few Doctor Who friends I might be able to drag along for group discounts and things. And we're all just itching to travel - Wales, the North, you name it. :D
I would suggest, if you're looking for ideas, maybe arranging a meet-up at the Wales Comic Con. (GDL and Kai Owen are both planning on coming, and it's only £5!) I'm still trying to figure out how to get there/book hostel rooms and things, but I would love to be able to meet a whole group of fans!

Date: 2011-02-27 07:41 pm (UTC)The Cardiff trip definitely needs to be before you go, because my deadline is also before you go. And I am hoping to go to WCC this year, because loads of my friends go and I've not managed to make it yet. (It usually clashes with morris dancing outings)
There's a guesthouse with double and triple rooms for £27 per person per night, but I've not found much else. A lot of these conventions are in really silly places - there nothing in Northampton, either, and that's where The Hub is next month (which you should come to as well. Big Torchwood convention, and I'm planning to spend most of it happily tipsy)

Date: 2011-02-27 11:31 pm (UTC)I would absolutely love to split a room for the WCC! What guesthouse is this? I've been having a frustrating time with it. (Not to mention the fact that every time I say "Wrexham" someone laughs. I didn't name the place!)
I'm still teetering about The Hub - it's an awful lot of money, and I'm only really interested in James Marsters. Of course, I would love to be able to hang out with other awesome fans for a weekend!
If you want to discuss dates and stuff, my email is eldarwannabe@gmail.com. :D

Date: 2011-03-01 06:15 pm (UTC)The guesthouse is called Grove House, I think... Lost the details, but I'll find them again.
Come to Huuuuub. It is a bit expensive, but it's usually just a slightly kinky and very affectionate glomp fest.
