Purloined from too many people to mention. If I've not done yours, let me know and I'll do it! Although I'm already running out of things to say...

I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes office supplies." I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. (Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal. In return, ask me anything you'd like to know about me and I'll give you an answer.)

I think it's probably Lake Eachim in the Atherton Tablelands, although that's possibly just because it was recent and warm and I was swimming with fish. York is very pretty, though, and I am very glad I live there.

I once fell off a ski lift, although it wasn't as dramatic as it sounds.

Have you ever found something you'd written but didn't remember writing?

Eeep! Where was the ski lift?

There's some stuff from a few years back that I don't remember, and I actually managed to read a Torchwood fanfiction and not realise that it was one of mine.

I grew up speaking Spanish at home. We listened to Spanish language radio, watched Spanish language TV. My parents had no idea that I could speak English until I started pre-school. I ended up going to a regular class for most of the day and an ESL class for the last part of the day.

The kids in the ESL class were much cooler. I got teased a lot in my regular class because I was quiet and nerdy.

Since I love the book High Fidelity, I'm gonna have to ask:

What are your top five favorite movies?

I wish I could still speak Spanish. It's such a cool language.

Top five movies:
The Lord of the Rings trilogy
Pirates of the Carribbean
Sister Act 2
Bring It On
The Lion King

Wow. Can I ask where you're living now?

I write fluffy domesticated Jack/Ianto stories, or just curl up in bed. When I'm at home I play Sims as well, but I've not got it with me here.

I'm currently in Melbourne, Hampton to be exact. I'm getting ready to leave though, in January, for the US and then at the end of next year will be in Uzbekistan. Told you I move - a lot!

I like fluffy stuff - but not too sweet, cuz I can't handle the toothache, LOL. Curling up in bed is definitely top of the list, but with two teens, or one teen and an almost teen, it's a little hard to do :/

I am over a year late to this party and I have six siblings. Have you got any?

Date: 2012-02-19 12:06 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] fiwen1010.livejournal.com
There is not late to this party. My parties go on for ever, and the cake is not a lie!

Six siblings is a lot. I do have one, and I struggle to cope with that (but he does have a lot of instruments to make up for his lack of numbers). Are your siblings older or younger?

Date: 2012-02-19 12:10 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] madcolt.livejournal.com
I have four older (two boys, two girls) and two younger (a girl and a boy). A technicality: the youngest, a boy, is actually my cousin, but he lived with us on and off for the first two years of his life, then moved in and we adopted him when he was about four.

What instruments does he play?

My mind is torn between "that's really even distribution" and "that must have been a busy breakfast table". My mind works in curious ways.

He plays piano, clarinet, penny whistle (and tends to wander around with half a dozen in his pockets), harmonica, accordion, hammered dulcima and melodeon - of which he has two, one of which is the only melodic minor tuned melodeon we've ever heard of, because he's weird.

Your brother sounds like a bit of a prodigy!

And yes, it did go almost perfectly boy-girl, till my younger sister came along and messed up the pattern. ;)
And a busy breakfast table it was. It was a bit like fighting for your life, only your life was a piece of toast.

He is pretty damn good. He also morris dances pretty well.

Never seemed to have any concept of appropriate times for loud instruments, though.

Sisters, they always have to mess things up :P

Yes, they do. *has totally never been the silly baby sister screwing things up*

Oh, Jesus, I shared a bedroom with my younger sister and she (a) has never had any understanding of boundaries, and (b) brought a LOT of boys home and always forgot to leave me any kind of warning. It got awkward.

Date: 2012-02-19 01:04 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] fiwen1010.livejournal.com
Yeah, that would get awkward. Rick and I never really dated (but, of course, one of my two ex-boyfriends has more awkwardness in the fallout than was caused by me coming out as gay. Because life is just like that)

Date: 2012-02-19 01:10 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] madcolt.livejournal.com
Working theory: I am 90% sure my sister turns boys gay by sleeping with them. I mean, once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, three times and it's enemy action.
The enemy here apparently being heterosexuality.
I don't know I wouldn't really trust anything I say I haven't slept properly (or at all?) since Wednesday.

Date: 2012-02-19 01:26 am (UTC)

Aw, thanks! Yeah, little bugger just needs so R&R, some TLC, some other acronym I can't think of, and some Pedialyte. :P

I told my husband to make the baby wave at the computer and he said I was pigeon-holing the child. Well, he's waving in spirit, I'm sure.
