'Miracle Gay'. Not big and not clever. More immature and damaging, actually. If I thought it were a comment on how over the top the gay jokes are and the fact that it comes across as vaguely homophobic, then maybe. But I really don't get that feeling, I think it's more of the 'it's so gay' that's hurting young LGBT people so badly.

I was so mad with them. I don't think that the message is coming across well enough if they're acting like this (not that they've seen Miracle Day, and neither have I), becasue they seem to have got the message that it's okay to make fun as long as you have gay friends or something.

*hugs* Like I said, these are the same people that have been openly hostile towards me in the time leading up to TW:MD, and, well... *points to initial comment*...

I think what upsets me the most, is that, I heard/read GDL quoted somewhere as standing up for bisexuality, and in my opinion - and as a bisexual female - that just about made him the most brilliant young man in/around my age group (he's older than me by three years... just), and these people are almost seemingly dismissing his opinions regarding sexuality to mean something bad.

And, I think it was Bees who pointed out that words have more than one meaning, but in this case, they were most definitely using GDL's comments and antics to perpetuate a bad thing, rather than using it in a sort of mocking way, on how the show has been "gayed up" per JB's own words, those on FB have definitely chosen to twist the context to mean something bad.

That's the quoting I'm talking about. :) It made me so happy on the day I read it, I posted it on my tumblr almost instantly because it meant a lot to me, and it still does, that someone I look up to, and am inspired by is telling us to be proud of who we are...

(At the time, I was dealing with some crap, and it perked me right up.)
