State of me

Apologies to everyone, but particularly
ruthyf who I still owe auction fic to. I'm nearly at the end of term, but I'm also in one of my worst writing dry-spots for years. No energy, no words, too many plot bunnies. I need to take a couple of days to get the caffeine out of my system, because all it's doing is keeping me awake, so I can't sleep, and I need more caffeine the next day to merely function and... ever decreasing circles, people, ever decreasing circles.
Soon I will find words, but for the moment these words were given to me by

If you want to play, request your words and I will find some that remind me of you. Somewhere. And then you have to tell me what thy mean to you.
I adore writing. I left it behind for a few years and rediscovered it through Torchwood fanfiction, which I am so grateful for. There's something so awesome about watching a story come together, finding out what's going on, getting into the lives and loves of the characters. If I could just write forever, I'd be happy.
I am the direct fault of morris dancing. I'm a third generation dancer (not dancing at the moment due to reluctant calves), and my parents met at a morris dance out. Morris is hilarious, and requires quite a high level of skill to look good, and it's a wonderful tradition. You only get to mock if you've done the time, in my opinion.
Where would I be without fandom? Possibly not here, because I surrendered the grades I could have got in my A levels for geeking out. I'm okay with that, though, because I don't think I would have got to Australia from my other university choices, and then I would be boring. I also wouldn't have LJ, probably, and I'd be a lot more messed up and probably on anti-depressants by this stage, because fandom taught me how to be me and I don't know that I would have coped at university without that. So, yeah. It's sort of weird thinking about that, though, because I've been doing fannish things since I was really little, and it wasn't until I discovered online fandom and the fandom community that I found out that that's not always something to be scorned.
I love to travel. Really, really love to travel. I'm already looking forwards to going back to Australia (January 2013, by the looks of things), and I want to do New Zealand and Asia in the same trip, at least. Monies needed, but I'll do it.
So far this year, I've only been to Cardiff (apart from, you know, New Year in Sydney, then to New York, then back to the UK). I'm doing at least one trip to London to see the Dr Who exhibition and to meet Mum's new gay bff, and I need to go to Birmingham to see
angelkitty101, and back to Cardiff to do more research for my dissertation and to do the Torchwood tour, and I want to go to Brighton Pride this year and maybe a couple of others. I don't know, really, but I get around a lot. I need a job to be able to fund it.
I have an insanely varied selection of music on my Spotify list (which I will pay for, because I love them and they give me awesome music on the go, and that is good). My 'awesome stuff' list currently has a lot of folk rock, a lot of cheese, and a bit of metal-ish stuff (Scandinavian symphonic metal and the like). There's also some prog, some classic rock and a bit of classical in there. Skip over to my other playlists and we have one of calming music, one of classic rock, one of folking awesome stuff, one of driving rock, and, well, lots of others. I love my music, I love it varied, and I wish I got to see more live music. But that is expensive, and travel is more important.
And that's a bit more of me. I think I'm going to go to bed now.
