It had been a long day, full of fun and family and laughter, nearly non-stop eating, more people than Ianto could remember meeting, let alone inviting, and a huge amount of excitement. When he'd been standing in Jack's arms on the dance floor, or standing in front of him and their family, he'd never wanted the day to end. By the time it had, he'd just wanted to sleep, and Jack had agreed with him, happy to curl up in the enormous, deep bed at UNIT's conference centre and sleep for as long as they needed.
As a result, it was still early when Ianto woke up, warm, drowsy and comfortable, with one of Jack's arms draped over his shoulders and the other curled around his waist, holding him loosely. Ianto smiled against Jack's chest and snuggled closer, knowing full well that Jack was already awake. “Morning.”
“Good morning, Mr Harkness-Jones,” Jack murmured.
Ianto frowned. “Don't. Just don't.”
“Sorry.”
“Mm,” Ianto kissed his chest. “Love you.”
“Love you too.” Jack rubbed a hand over Ianto's back lazily, trailing his fingers over the curves and planes that he knew so well. “Ready for breakfast?”
“Well...” Ianto smiled and pushed himself up slightly, resting on one elbow so that he could look down at Jack. “That depends on what sort of breakfast you had in mind...”
“Mr Harkness-Jones,” Jack chided with a stunning smile. “Are you propositioning me?”
Ianto leaned forwards and pressed his lips against Jack, deciding that Jack would have to get the message. He seemed to get it quite enthusiastically, if his responses were anything to go by.
A couple of hours later, Ianto collected his scattered braincells and loose limbs together and rolled over, pressing himself against Jack's side again and resting an arm across his body. Jack sighed and held his hand in place, whilst running his own free hand through Ianto's hair and over his shoulders, squeezing when he reached Ianto's biceps before repeating the gesture back the other way. “Thank you. For everything.”
Ianto stayed quiet, turning his hand so that he could hold Jack's.
Jack sighed again, a happy sigh, and relaxed even more. “You gave me a chance when no one else would have, you put up with me, wait for me, follow me and excuse me.”
“I love you,” he explained.
“Yeah, that too.” Jack pulled Ianto's hand up to his lips and kissed it. “And then you married me. I don't know what I'd do without you, Ianto Jones.”
“Ianto Harkness-Jones,” he corrected with a smile, and Jack squeezed his hand. “I never thought... when I was growing up, I never really thought I'd end up married. If I did, I didn't expect it to be all... you know.”
“Not really,” Jack confessed.
“Oh.” He thought about it more, wondered exactly what he'd thought about it. “I expected it to be this massive change, where I suddenly became an adult with responsibilities and no support system, off away from home. It's not like that, though.”
“No,” Jack agreed. “I hope not, anyway.”
He raised his head and smiled at Jack. “It's nothing at all like that. I feel like I'm not just where I belong, but the only place I could possibly be, and... and there's security in it. Do you know what I mean?”
“Coming home?”
He thought about it and settled down again with his head over Jack's heart. “Yes. Pretty much exactly that. But with more desperate desire to shag your brains out.”
“Right...” Jack paused his massage of Ianto's back. “Note that I'm not complaining about that.”
“Duly noted.” He closed his eyes. “Round two can commence after breakfast.”

Date: 2011-01-21 01:36 am (UTC)After the long, stressful (wondering what's going to go wrong), exhausting (dealing with all the guests) wedding, I'll bet a lot of newlywed couples just fall into bed wanting to sleep. The morning after, when they're fully rested, is the perfect time to shag each other senseless!

Date: 2011-01-21 08:05 pm (UTC)My cousin got annoyed with her newly-wed husband at their wedding, because he sat up until 2 in the morning talking to his friends, and she just wanted to go to sleep. I don't think he was getting any that night.
