What I like about the fandom:
David Blaize is an absolute joy. I owe whoever recommended me the series a huge amount, although I still disagree with their assessment that it has too much cricket. The characters are just lovely people who have gentle adventures and disagreements, and even when it rains it's just a reason to have a good hot bath. I have read right through to the end of David of Kings, although I've not yet read David and the Blue Door, so anything from during the canon or into their future is right up my street. Frank is wonderful and needs someone to love him, and whilst I'd rather that be David I will accept anyone who accepts and loves him
David Blaize/Frank Maddox (David Blaize - Benson)
What I like about them:
David is just sunshine personified, and Frank needs that. The relationship between them in the books is wonderful, I love the hero worship morphing into real and lasting friendship, and the genuine love between them. I'm so here for David getting a clue, however long that takes, and for them to find happiness together
Prompts:
Playing cricket together for county, MCC or country; Frank going on digs and David following as his assistant; drifting apart and back together; modern AU where Frank's concerns at school are more about the age gap between them and this persisting until they're well into their 20s
Frank Maddox/Original Male Archaeologist (David Blaize - Benson)
What I like about them:
I have watched too much Time Team recently and have opinions about hopeless Victwardian antiquarians, mostly around their record keeping, digging practices, and how they should never have been allowed near anything important. However, I will happily set that aside in the interests of getting Frank a nice boyfriend who respects him and appreciates him and with whom he can spend happy evenings around the fire at camp talking about their interests and gazing up at the stars late into the night, then return to their cottage where they commit crimes by misfiling all their damn finds. Age gap relationship between Frank and an experienced professor is entirely up my street, as is a modern AU where they are archaeologists using proper techniques
Frank Maddox/Original Male Cricketer (David Blaize - Benson)
What I like about them:
I just really, really like cricket. I know, this is brand new information, no one knew this about me. Canon-era or modern AU, I don't mind. Put them on opposite sides of one of the great cricket rivalries, bring them together in the IPL and County Championship, show them spending hour after hour in the nets, anything. Just give Frank those two great loves - cricket and his boyfriend
Hughes/Frank Maddox (David Blaize - Benson)
What I like about them:
Ugh. My poor boys. These two deserve to find happiness and live their truth, and I would love to see them live it together. Even if Hughes isn't much of a cricketer. They both have a lot of baggage to work out. It'd be interesting to see how they framed their experiences within the contemporary theories of Uranian love and the burgeoning understanding of queer sexualities. Not really interested in modern AUs for this, but I could probably be persuaded.
Frank Maddox/Original Male Character(s) (David Blaize)
What I like about them:
A sort of catch all. I just want him to find love and happiness, and I don't really mind who with. If you feel like going incredibly nerdy on a specialism that I've not thought of, I eat up excessive historical detail like it's candy, but if you just want to give him a soft love in the country somewhere or on Capri or whatever, that is also extremely fine by me. Just let him be happy.

What I like about the fandom:
I have to confess that I don't like Maurice. I tried, but mostly I wanted to shout at him and go back to reading David blaize, who is just a nicer person. But the story only really picks up right at the end, when Maurice has his lightbulb moment and walks away from what makes him miserable to try and find happiness. That fasciantes me, because together he and Alec take such a leap of faith into the blue. It won't be easy for them, but I hope they make it and find it together.
Cyril de Montfort/Male Trevelyan (DA Games)
What I like about them:
Nobles brought together in a world torn asunder and finding some comfort in each other, maybe? I'm more into pre- and post-Inquisition than anything set during the main storyline. Perhaps they met at one of the endless balls Trevelyan was dragged to by his parents, or at a hunt at Chateau Haine. Did they split, and if so why? Would prefer a non-mage, but then again the idea of them trying to carry on a relationship through the limited communication they had whilst Trevelyan was in the Circle is also very intriguing.
Cyril de Montfort/Original Male Character(s) (DA Games)
What I like about them:
This is a 'sell me on this' request. I'm intrigued, in theory, but haven't yet got a solid hold of Cyril enough to go there myself.
Frederic of Serault/Male Trevelyan (DA Games)
What I like about them:
Two geeks a-geeking… I always play my Trevelyans as just massive nerds enjoying the opportunity to explore the world far too much, and they'd all love being able to wind Frederic up and watch him wax lyrical on his favourite subject. Getting him to stop talking long enough to kiss him might be a challenge, but it's one worth the investment.
Frederic of Serault/Philliam Trevelyan (DA Games)
What I like about them:
Again, put me two nerds together and I'm happy. I can imagine the arguments they'd have about their research, and Philliam insisting that he's not a dragonologist but really, darling, that's not what that word translates as at all, clearly it's this instead, and no you're not putting the bladder in my bag just because yours is full...
Greagoir/Irving (DA Games)
What I like about them:
I shipped these two from the moment we met them. They gave off very old married couple vibes, with Greagoir doing his best to pretend he's totally chill and wasn't at all worried about Irving, and the fact that if Irving dies you can't stop him annulling the Circle... Okay, less so that bit, but. Just this couple who've been together as friends and then loves for so many years and know each other so well.
Anora/Female Trevelyan (DA)
What I like about them:
Two powerful women, whether Anora is Queen or not, doing their best to hold their world together as it really tries its hardest to fall apart. I'd prefer something set before the Inquisitor becomes the Inquisitor, or in a world where Trevelyan does not become Inquisitor, but I'm also intrigued by where they would go after meeting during the Inquisition, especially if they didn't meet at Redcliffe and instead met through the prolonged negotiations
Ashaad/Saemus Dumar (DA)
What I like about them:
I really love Seamus and his unique perspective on Kirkwall society. Nobles who don't want to be there and want to shake things up are right up my street, and he's perfect. The exploration of the Qun through their relationship and the very different attitudes they must have to sex and love and what it means to be part of a society or a family are so interesting. Obviously fixits gleefully accepted
Bran Cavin/Serendipity (DA)
What I like about them:
Bran's choice to take Serendipity to Chateau Haine is a really big statement, and he's too cautious for it to be just about putting Orlesian noses out of joint. I hope it's born out of genuine affection, but the idea that it's also a political arrangement with them working together to change things in Kirkwall is also an interesting one. Exception to my DNW for explicit sex
Dalish/Skinner (DA)
What I like about them:
They're cute, and stabby. I get the impression that Dalish is quite a bit older, more laid back. It's a sapphic age gap romance where the grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one with the potential for tender wound tending, sharing body heat, and fighting together, what more could I want?
Female Adaar/Female Trevelyan (DA)
What I like about them:
Horny disaster lesbians. Before, during or after the Inquisition, anything from a one night stand to friends with benefits to a deep and lasting relationship. Adaar and Trevelyan are my favourite Inquisitors so far - and I am Sera in that I like my Adaars all big and phwoar. Exception to my DNW of explicit sex
Female Adaar/Svarah Sun-Hair (DA)
What I like about them:
Sapphic age gap relationship, yes please. I adore Thane Sun-hair, and would love a little slice of hero-worship coming from the Inquisitor. That moment in their lives when their paths cross so briefly, and the Inquisitor finds herself as a respected guest in someone else's lands, someone who respects her for her skills and doesn't see her as Qunari or Vashoth, just as an equal and a fine warrior and leader. Exception to my DNW of explicit sex.
Female Aeducan/Alistair (DA)
What I like about them:
The princess who expects to be treated as one and lost everything meets the prince who expects to be treated as a commoner and gained the throne. I like my Aeducans slightly scheming, politically savvy, and self-assured, and preferably having no interest in Alistair until she finds out he's a prince but later catches feelings. I'm also firmly in the 'Aeducan should have been allowed to marry Alistair' camp, because the idea of the Landsmeet objecting to a union between the king and the sister of the country with which they share a border, even if it's a horizontal border, is faintly ludicrous. The marriage would make Aeducan one of the three most powerful women in the world, alongside the Divine and Empress Celene, and possibly top dog once she's named Paragon and holds some more power in Orzammar. She who controls the Lyrium trade controls a lot more than most people around her will be comfortable with. I really like her working with Bhelen rather than against him, and putting the backstabbing behind them - for now - in the interests of cementing their grip on power. Whether Alistair is just a pawn in that or she really feels for him, I don't mind
Female Brosca/Female Cadash (DA)
What I like about them:
This is a 'sell me on this' request. I'm intrigued, in theory, but haven't yet got a concrete idea of where I'd go with it.
Female Trevelyan/Ser Marlein Selbrech (DA)
What I like about them:
My tiniest of tiny OTPs. Ser Marlein Selbrech is a Kirkwall noble who gives you a side quest if you oppose Meredith at the start of the third act - she's part of a conspiracy of nobles who want to restore rule of Kirkwall to someone other than Meredith, and you meet them in Lowtown and then have to fight your way out because one of the conspiracy has betrayed everyone. I'd love anything set during the chaos in Kirkwall, with young nobles fighting against the tide of corruption together and also attending parties and wearing beautiful gowns and removing each others beautiful gowns. The opportunity for exploring Kirkwall's society is delicious. I'm here for unhappy endings, because I can see Marlein crossing Meredith once too often and not getting away in the end.
Sherlock (TV)
Fandom specific DNWS:
Evil Mrs Lestrade or Mary, John/Sherlock
What I like about the fandom:
I've been a Sherlock Holmes fan for a very long time, and Sherlock remains one of my favourite adaptations. Why? Because it's very silly and makes me laugh. Yes, I even like the dreaded fourth season and especially Eurus. The story is so rooted in London, a city I absolutely adore, and in the itnerpersonal relationships between a completely disfunctional group of people. Those relationships absolutely fascinate me. Mycroft and Lestrade are my favourite characters, and I'm fascinated by the framework they provide to the story. It really wouldn't work without them, but they're so peripheral to it most of the time. There aren't enough female characters but I love all of them, especially Mary, and want more content about all of them. It's just a show about relationships really, mostly platonic ones, and that really works for me.
Eurus Holmes/Harry Watson (Sherlock (TV))
What I like about them:
Give me dark and twisted Eurus trying to get close to Sherlock and John and, preferably, catching feelings. She can play the part of the lover, and I would love to see her play herself, especially if she gets to know Harry and finds a mirror in their situations, with both of them deserving better from their brothers. I'd prefer a soft ending for them, probably with a lot of therapy and Eurus still not entirely 'right' but very keen on trying to be better for Harry's sake.
Eurus Holmes/Molly Hooper (Sherlock (TV))
What I like about them:
What if Eurus tried to get close to Sherlock not by threatening Molly but by seducing her? And then got super protective over her? Like Eurus Holmes levels of destructive protective.
Greg Lestrade's Wife/Harry Watson (Sherlock (TV))
What I like about them:
This is two women who never appear on screen but are really important to the men in their lives. Greg's wife, presumably, was with him during the 5 years he knew Sherlock before they met John, and probably put up with a lot over the years. She must be a pretty impressive person to deal with Sherlock at his worst. And then there's Harry, who John can't stand to the extent that he ended up living with Sherlock, and although he seems disappointed she didn't come to the wedding he had made clear she wasn't wanted there by having an open bar. It'd be really interesting to see the world of Sherlock from their perspectives, and also to have them just find happiness in their second chances and work through their issues together. Side pairings: Mystrade always welcome, Johnlock not. But John going through a series of hopeless relationships with women who quickly realise how weird he is is always fun
Greg Lestrade/Greg Lestrade's Wife (Sherlock (TV))
What I like about them:
I'm really interested in their relationship during the 5 years before Sherlock met John, when Lestrade seems to have been the person he was closest to, and what impact that would have had on the Lestrades's home life, and then what happened for their marriage to fall apart in the end. Would prefer Sherlock's deduction about her cheating to be wrong, or just not in full possession of all the facts (maybe she broke it off with her PE teacher when she and Lestrade agreed to get back together), but I am 100% here for amicable breakup, conscious uncoupling, just a relationship that's run its course between two people who are still fond of each other but can't stay married for whatever reason

I love all kinds of crossovers and am always open to crossovers I've not prompted between fandoms I've requested. My favourite kind is those where both canons coexist in the same universe, like Vera and Lewis having to work together on a case that touches both universities or the Doctor landing on THEDAS.
Margery Blaize (David Blaize)/River Song (Doctor Who (2005))
What I like about them:
Margery only appears in David Blaize and then disappears from the story. She was based on Benson's sister, Margaret, who died the year David Blaize was published. In real life she was a sapphic Egyptologist (read about her here who was one of the first women to be admitted to Oxford University and was the first woman to be granted a government permit to conduct an excavation in Egypt. I'd love to see something where Margery follows in her namesake's footsteps, but then meets another archaeologist and has even more incredible adventures
I am really excited to see what you make, and I hope you enjoy this as much as I'm sure I will!
