*Blows the dust off DreamWidth*
Okay. That went well. Hi! Life happened there for a while. I don't know who's still around, just about to go and find that out...
For those who are,
I'm living alone again, back in Halifax near my parents, with 3 adorable kitties called Lottie, Titch and Izzy. I'm working a job I love, and I've just changed my hours to ones that suit me so much better (10-6 instead of 8-4. Suddenly I'm not a zombie and I'm getting things done in the evenings! That's been forced a bit by my mad, ridiculous decision to start another degree through the Open University, so soon I'm going to be studying Geography and Environmental Science, as long as Student Finance England get their asses in gear.
Fandom-wise, I feel out of fandom for ages, mostly due to starting work and losing all my free time as a result. It's nice to be able to afford my own place, but not nice that I never got to see it. But then I got flu back in January and had a week off work, and whilst I was laid up on the sofa with that I watched Class, the newest Doctor Who spin-off. And suddenly my geek was back in force. I've written a teeny bit of fic for that, but then I went on Tumblr to find the rest of the fandom (LiveJournal was a much better way of doing fandom, just saying), and I accidentally discovered Shadowhunters. And now I eat, sleep and breathe Malec. It's like Janto, only they have healthy conversations and get to kiss more than once a series and neither of them is dead.
So this year I've been to Birmingham, London and Manchester MCM cons, and I'm off to SFW in the City in Sheffield next month, and then next year I might only managed The Hunters of Shadow in Paris because that will be expensive.
But that said, my house is now like a mini convention venue. I have two spare bedrooms and a sofa - hopefully another sleepable room coming soon (endless work on this house, I'm going insane) - so if you're ever in the area or want to be,
hit me up!
TL;dr, life is good

Date: 2017-09-15 09:14 pm (UTC)Shadowhunters is on DVD but only in Germany. It's on Freeform in the US, and Netflix everywhere else. It's literally the only reason I have Netflix.

Date: 2017-09-15 10:08 pm (UTC)I'm plodding along. Still writing too much and taking on too many challenges, but it keeps me out of trouble.
Life happens. The good thing about places like dreamwidth is you can just come and go as circumstances allow, and you'll find people you know sill lurking when you come back =)
