NaNoWriMo flailing

So I've got to 15k and... Nearly reached the end of my plot. I had to add a whole reunion thing to add words.

It's quite sweet, actually. My MC, Andy, was dumped by his boyfriend, divorced his wife, lost his job because of his sexuality (they needed to make cuts because of the recession, but he moved himself up the list by coming out) and got disowned by his mother over the divorce before he'd even told her the reasons behind it. So he left Glasgow to go to London and start afresh, and he dropped out of contact with his best friends and his ex-wife, who he's still very fond of, and become a heavy drinker, if not an alcoholic on top of it. He misses his boyfriend, who was the first person he ever really loved, but he didn't realise until he was dumped. And this secret agent badass chick turned up and offered him a fresh opportunity, and told him that if he was quick he could be there in time to give his ex-wife away at her wedding, and that his best friend is holding off having his CP because he wants Andy to be there for it and he's really worried about him.

And it'll be mega sweet, because Andy and Rupert don't do talking. They're butch, manly guys (even though Rupert's a drag queen by profession, his partner is the flamboyant one), but they were in a relationship for a while, and they care about each other very deeply, but they've never really realised it. So there's going to be hugging and possibly tears, because making six-foot-tall men who are built like the proverbial outhouse cry is... cathartic for them.

And what I really want to do is bugger the whole story and just write Pablo and Rupert's romance, because it's sweet and lovely and sort of professional high-camp. What I want to do more is jack the whole lot in and write Torchwood fanfiction again, because it's so damn easy, and I'm writing 500+ words of Torchwood every day anyway.

...hm. well... i can tell you what I'D like to see. but thats not fair to you. its just easier to relate to characters i already know.

that being said, seeing big manly men cry is pretty awesome. :) lol. i think, go with what you WANT to write.... Go with what works for you. Maybe not with what's easiest.. but do what you want. The story sounds fairly heartbreaking and wonderful and sweet all at once. :)
Go with your heart, my friend. *hugs*
