Wow. A lot of stuff goes on in your head. I'm similar; all myl ife, I've written even from like the age of five I wrote:D You obviously have a passion and the inspiration for it. You clearly have good, well thought out ideas especially with the STI one. I wouldn't worry about it's controverisiality. Have you seen some of the stufff out there? Authors have all sorts happening to Ianto. I think there was one with him with HIV, then there's the numerous torture ones and the rape ones and the abuse ones and I myself hae written a child abuse one and brought it to trial and everything so I realyl wouldn't worry about the subject matter. You clearly want to write it; it shows by the way you speak about it so write it. There's no point writing a more 'socially accpetable' version if your hearts not in it. You'd be surprised what people like to read. As long as you deal with the situation properly and don't do something stupid like make fun of it or muck up the facts or whatever, you'll be fine:D
