Raffles - E. W. Hornung
Fandom specific DNWS:
N/A

What I like about the fandom:
Raffles! I love how Hornung wrestles with the morality of his antihero, the excitement of the heist, the 'other' cases that Raffles and Bunny take on together (have you noticed how few of the stories are actually straight-forward burglaries? There's only a handful in the entire collection). The window onto society of the time is so interesting, seen as it is from a different perspective that gets into the bedrooms and dressing rooms of the nobility without ever truly entering that part of society. I love all eras of their adventures, but I'd also love to see things spun off from the happier ending of the TV show, maybe with Raffles and Bunny now pressed into service for Queen and Country.

Bunny Manders/A. J. Raffles (Raffles - Hornung)
What I like about them:
Everything. Just everything. They're so frustrating and wonderful, and so in love with each other and, a bit, themselves. And can Bunny go five words without telling the reader how attractive Raffles is? Really no.

Prompts:
I'd go for either an AU where they can marry legally, or something really excessively detailed about historical marriage customs within queer communities. I don't mind whether you go with the Honung timeline, follow the ITV version with its happier ending, or pick your own fixit where they escape South Africa and live out their days happily in some far-flung corner of the British Empire. I am Very into cricket, so if you want to go down that route I will be overjoyed.

Rivers of London - Ben Aaronovitch
Fandom specific DNWS:
N/A

What I like about the fandom:
Ben Aaronovitch has somehow taken all of my favourite things - magical realism, excessive levels of detail, murder mysteries, London, architecture and sarcasm - and blended them into a series of books I could reread endlessly. The characters are all so endearing and detailed, the narration is a joy, the theory behind it is both sound and confusing. Could only be improved by the addition of cricket, but that's a very minor omission. You can tell he knows and loves his city

David Mellenby/Thomas Nightingale (Rivers of London)
What I like about them:
I realise that the author has made a decision, but since it's a stupid-ass decision I've decided to ignore it. Fixits for everyone! These two fascinate me, with the way that we're gradually being seeded information about David and his relationship with NIghtingale. I'm pretty sure it'll be canonised as romantic one day, but we shall see. For now, we have fanfiction. And if we're going fixit, that's a whole century in my favourite place in the world for them to explore and live and love. The different social circles they've moved in, the social and economic changes they've seen, the endlessly changing skyline

Sherlock (TV)
Fandom specific DNWS:
Evil Mrs Lestrade or Mary, John/Sherlock

What I like about the fandom:
I've been a Sherlock Holmes fan for a very long time, and Sherlock remains one of my favourite adaptations. Why? Because it's very silly and makes me laugh. Yes, I even like the dreaded fourth season and especially Eurus. The story is so rooted in London, a city I absolutely adore, and in the interpersonal relationships between a completely dysfunctional group of people. Those relationships absolutely fascinate me. Mycroft and Lestrade are my favourite characters, and I'm fascinated by the framework they provide to the story. It really wouldn't work without them, but they're so peripheral to it most of the time. There aren't enough female characters but I love all of them, especially Mary, and want more content about all of them. It's just a show about relationships really, mostly platonic ones, and that really works for me.

Greg Lestrade/Greg Lestrade's Wife (Sherlock (TV))
What I like about them:
I'm really interested in their relationship during the 5 years before Sherlock met John, when Lestrade seems to have been the person he was closest to, and what impact that would have had on the Lestrades's home life, and then what happened for their marriage to fall apart in the end. Would prefer Sherlock's deduction about her cheating to be wrong, or just not in full possession of all the facts (maybe she broke it off with her PE teacher when she and Lestrade agreed to get back together), but I am 100% here for amicable breakup, conscious uncoupling, just a relationship that's run its course between two people who are still fond of each other but can't stay married for whatever reason

Prompts:
My main ship is Mycroft/Lestrade so I'd love them as endgame, but really anything with these two untangling a shared life in a way that's kind and compassionate, and still full of familial love and respect, and the work and regret and everything involved to keep it that way. Particularly if the logistics of the breakup are getting in the way, either because they have kids or even grandchildren, shared pets, shared friendship groups, maybe even stay living together because London is offensively expensive to live alone and they're empty nesters with a big house they can share comfortably but that causes issues with getting a divorce.

Mycroft Holmes/Greg Lestrade (Sherlock (TV))
What I like about them:
My current OTP of OTPs. I love Sherlock more than I probably should, and part of the reason I love it is the structure these two bring to the narrative. Without Lestrade's support and Mycroft's protection, it's hard to see how Sherlock gets to the point where he meets John and the story starts. This creates a really interesting space between the two of them, the implication that they've known each other for years and have this whole other relationship we don't get to see on screen. They balance each other beautifully. I love stories where the two of them are a comfortable pair, friends to lovers or an established relationship, where the conflict is external and they're a united front power couple.

Prompts:
I'm also a shipper (possibly the only shipper) of Lestrade and his wife, so I love the idea of any story that brings together those stages of Greg's life. I like Mycroft being Greg's first male partner, but having some male partners previously himself. Would love it if the Lestrades have children and a sizeable extended family that Mycrfot is marrying into, but I also love the Holmes parents and think they'd adore Greg - in fact, they've probably known him for years because of Sherlock, so maybe the relationship comes out of the blue or maybe they've actually been hoping that Mycroft and Greg would figure it out for a while. Or maybe they have been married since S3 and Sherlock just hasn't noticed.

What I like about the fandom:
I bought Inquisition because I remembered that Gareth David Lloyd was in it and it was cheap on PS Store, and it has since consumed my life. I love the depth to the world and how absolutely vast it is. We've seen such a small corner of it, and there's entire countries fleshed out that we've yet to visit. There's such endless opportunity for exploration and adventure, and real deep lore-diving.

Alistair/Warden (DA)
What I like about them:
Poor Alistair. He really doesn't have much luck, does he? None of the options he's faced with at the end of the Blight is exactly a good one. Every time I play Origins I insist I'm definitely going to romance someone different this time, and then he comes out with that stupid joke and I'm back where I started. I can see many opportunities for a happy ending for him, and all of them have a very interesting journey to get there.

Prompts:
Aeducan - The princess who expects to be treated as one and lost everything meets the prince who expects to be treated as a commoner and gained the throne. I like my Aeducans slightly scheming, politically savvy, and self-assured, and preferably having no interest in Alistair until she finds out he's a prince but later catches feelings. I'm also firmly in the 'Aeducan should have been allowed to marry Alistair' camp, because the idea of the Landsmeet objecting to a union between the king and the sister of the country with which they share a border, even if it's a horizontal border, is faintly ludicrous. The marriage would make Aeducan one of the three most powerful women in the world, alongside the Divine and Empress Celene, and possibly top dog once she's named Paragon and holds some more power in Orzammar. She who controls the Lyrium trade controls a lot more than most people around her will be comfortable with. I really like her working with Bhelen rather than against him, and putting the backstabbing behind them - for now - in the interests of cementing their grip on power. Whether Alistair is just a pawn in that or she really feels for him, I don't mind.

Cousland - Born to power and prestige, but does she want it? I like the idea of a Cousland who saw the Wardens as her way out of the expectations of her birth, and instead ended up as Warden Commander and possibly Queen of Ferelden. There's a nice potential here for them to be idealistic and devoted to their duties and to each other, but still with complicated feelings about how they ended up in power and whether they should be there as Wardens.

Mahariel: - My first Warden. I've played both endings for Alistair with Mahariel, although I don't do it these days just because of the choice in Inquisition. I could go for Alistair rejecting the throne to stay with Mahariel and the pair of them travelling with the Wardens, returning to a lifestyle more like her Dalish upbringings complete with a Dalish wedding, or him being King, with or without Anora, with Mahariel at his side as his trusted advisor and mistress. In this case I like the idea that the arrangement is well-known and accepted, with dissent suppressed by her achievements (and the fact that everyone is scared of her).
Amell/Brosca/Tabris I haven't played yet, soI have no opinions but if you do my ears are open

Alistair/Anora Mac Tir (DA)
What I like about them:
This is a really interesting relationshi, with so many ways it can go. I love the sort of cautious start, with neither of them really wanting to be in this position but willing to do their best, and then how quickly it can deteriorate. If you can get them through the rocky start, I'm really interested in where they'd go from there. Anora wants to be Queen with Alistair there to validate her rule, but he's an idealist who's seen enough of the inequality in Thedas to want to improve things. Whether one or both of them have lovers outside the marriage, how close the advisors are circling, how the negotiations with Orlais and Orzammar go, it's all going to be interesting

Prompts:
I'd love to see anything about the complicated political machinations within and around their marriage, and how they make that political union work. We know that Alistair does go overseas on riplomatic trips (at least as far as Kirkwall) and has his connections with Orzammar after the Blight, whilst Celene is fond of Anora.. What does that mean for their relationship? Are they friends, fond of each other, barely stand each other? Do they have other lovers, do they actually try to produce an heir or decide to blame the lack of heir on Alistair's Joining?

Alistair/Female Mahariel (DA)
What I like about them:
Mahariel was my first Warden, and I played both endings for them. I really liked the idea of them going off to join the Wardens together, but also rather liked her joining the Ferelden court as his advisor and being in a position to advocate for the elves. Both options appeal

Prompts:
My first Warden. Briala/Celene Valmont (DA)
What I like about them:
Yes, I know, but I love them anyway. I love how they’re both backstabbing, power hungry schemers who still love each other despite how politically self-sabotaging that is. I love that Celene will do anything to secure her grip on the throne apart from give up Briala. I love that Briala will do anything to help her people, but trusts Celene anyway. I love that if you, as Inquisitor, give them your support, Celene immediately seizes on the moment and not only takes Briala back as her lover but gives her a title and control of the Dales and announces her to the entire Orlesian Court. I love that when Briala visits the court she's recognised as the Marquisse of the Dales and as Celene's lover, and that they 'cavort like lvoers half their age'. Inject it directly into my eyes, becasue I love this kind of mess.

Prompts:
Give Celene an inch and she'll take a mile. I would love anything with them marrying in secret in the years before everything went to shit, and then doing it again in public with the protection fo the Inquisition at their back. That acknowledgement that it's only possible thanks to the Inquisition forcing the issue, but also with the blessing of the Divine and the recognition of every neighbouring nation. Because whilst the Orlesian court probably aren't happy, plenty of others will be.

Dagna/Sera (DA)
What I like about them:
They're so cute. We get so little about them but it's so much fun. They could cause so much mayhem together! I particularly love that they have such different approaches and attitudes to magic, but still the same curiosity and desire to make things explode. And both finding a family and a home in the Inquisition after rejecting or being rejected by family in the past.

Prompts:
I can't see them having a big wedding, but I can totally see them just turning up to breakfast one morning and referring to each other as wives, much to the surprise of everyone except the put-upon Chantry Mother who married them. Just married chaos wives <3

Female Adaar/Sera (DA)
What I like about them:
Possibly my favourite Dragon Age ship? But of course the competition is stiff. (That's what she said, Sera cries, as she falls off the bed laughing). They were so much fun, so affectionate and loving and honest, and also utterly deadly. It was Amazing.

Prompts:
I'm a bit married to the idea of Adaar having a totally normal Vashoth family somewhere on the Free Marches who respect her choice to become a mercenary but are still very worried about her, and who happily welcome Sera as a member of the family who they hope will calm their wayward daughter for the first 10 minutes after meeting her and then realise that is not happening, but they love her anyway. But I just adore Sera's pride and joy at getting to marry her Inky, getting to show her off. That little elopement scene was such a joy. I'd love to see them then forced to do it again properly by Josie, and it all going as well as anything the Inquisition organised usually does. Lots of honeymoon sex and adventures would also be lovely.

Josephine Montilyet/Female Trevelyan (DA)
What I like about them:
This is such a Disney princess romance. I like my Trevelyan with a bit of a history to her before she joins the Inquisition, more than being an 18 year old newly Harrowed who's spent her life in the Circle, because then their backgrounds are really interesting and they're a really good fit both romantically and professionally. They beocme a political powerhouse, competent and well-respected with connections across Thedas, which appeals to my id. It's so much fun to see the Inquisitor slaughter her way across Thedas, but I also really enjoy the moments when she's deep in negotiations and would have loved to spend more time as a political and military leader, with her wife there as her diplomat.

Prompts:
I am pretty sure that the reason you can't marry Josie at the end of Inquisition is because she would need to spend at least a year planning the wedding to be happy. The tiny cakes! I would so love their massive fairytale wedding, attended by all the great and the good of Theodosian politics (with the scheming, intrigue and dresses that requires), but also their honeymoon after as they try to stop each other working and actually stop long enough to see the world for a change, or their married life after the Inquisition. I also love that the Montilyet and Trevelyan families are vast and sprawling, and connected, and Josie knows some of Trevelyan's family before they meet!

Doctor Who (2005)
Fandom specific DNWS:
N/a

What I like about the fandom:
I've been watching Doctor Who since 2005, so I am vaguely familiar with the classic series but in love with the modern series and its spin-offs. It's such a massive universe with so many chaotic crossovers in all directions, and I love that you can tell any story within the framework of the fandom and it still makes perfect sense. Although i didn't watch Doctor Who as a kid my parents did tell me stories, and the Doctor they painted for me was just Matt Smith's, to an unbelievable degree. He is My Doctor, but I love all the new ones and all the classic ones I've seen. I'm not big on the more horror-themed episodes, being deeply familiar with the back of my sofa, but love worldbuilding and adventuring and anything big, dramatic and chaotic.

Eleventh Doctor/River Song (Doctor Who)
What I like about them:
I fell in love with them when I finally found the Night and the Doctor shorts (https://tardis.fandom.com/wiki/Night_and_the_Doctor). They have so much fun together on their secret adventures. We never really got to see much of their lives together after their marriage, but these snippets are so cute and they're so utterly in love.

Prompts:
Any sort of adventures during their nights together. Chaos, running, explosions, kissing. Marrying each other over and over again in different cultures, going back to visit her for their anniversaries, just enjoying a nice sunset with an ice cream. Anything with the two of them just being ridiculous and in love.

Thirteenth Doctor/River Song (Doctor Who)
What I like about them:
I so want these two to meet on screen. River doesn't know Thirteen exists, Thirteen probably thinks she's never going to see her again. They're going to be so happy to find each other and it's going to be beautiful.

Prompts:
How many weddings can two women have? Always at least one more. I'd love to see all the weddings, all the dresses (the Doctor in a ridiculous wedding dress with not enough pockets is a joyous image), all the suits, all the cake! Or married life on the TARDIS falling back into whatever comfortable ways they found on Darillium, clinging to this time they never expected to have. A fixit that brings River back from the Library would be absolutely amazing but I'm not married to that idea (boom boom)
