The lilo bounced again and Ianto growled into his pillow and grabbed at the duvet to hold it close as protection against the sudden invasion of frigid air. Jack made a wordless, placating noise, reaching into the pile for what he probably thought was Ianto's shoulder. A moment later the sound of a zip cut through the quiet, and the temperature plummeted further.
"Jack," Ianto muttered through clenched teeth, cracking one eye open. "It's not even light yet."
"I heard something," he murmured. He leaned forwards, dislodging the duvet further, and opened the outer door. Weak pre-dawn light lit the small tent, and the smell of grass and sheep intensified. "Well," he said, "I found the source of the noise."
"Sheep?"
"Rabbits."
He rolled over and knelt up next to Jack, pulling the door back to see. Cold air slapped against hid face, and a swarm of rabbits, stretching all the way down the field to the hedge boundary, ignored them completely.
"I hate you. You woke me for rabbits?"
Jack dragged the duvet up around them again and pulled Ianto close. He was warm from their cocoon still and Ianto gave in with a sigh, settling down against him.
"If you hated me," Jack whispered, "you wouldn't be whispering. Spoiling the moment wouldn't matter."
"It's for the rabbits," he insisted. "They haven't done anything to raise my ire."
Jack chuckled. "Maybe the rabbits are the moment."
"Shut up." Ianto yawned hugely and rested his head on Jack's shoulder. "I suppose... we might as well watch the sun come up now, seeing as we're here."
"Yeah." Jack's head rested on top of his. "I said you didn't hate me."
This is ridiculous
