27 – Where is your favorite place to write, and do you write by hand or on the computer?
I have my corner of the living room where I do most of my writing. It's got my main desktop computer, pots of pencils, a jug of squash (that needs refilling right now), a glass and the detritus of several snacks, a few times of emptying my handbag of fliers and a few items of post. It's a mess and I need to sort it out, but I've not got around to it yet. Writing on the sofa is nice, but awkward because of the size of my laptop (it's only a 10" screen and a similarly small keyboard), and I like writing in cafes but I get distracted. Writing at my desk is best.
I do do a bit of writing by hand, usually when I'm on the move. My handwriting is terrible, though, and I have to type it up when I'm done, so I usually just think it over and save the writing until I have a computer. I do my plot planning by hand, though. THis usually involves working out timelines and dividing events into chapters, and it's much easier to be able to cross things out, I find. Deleting them just isn't as satisfying.
28 – Have you ever collaborated with anyone else, whether writing together, or having an artist work on a piece about your fic?
