25 – Music – Do you listen to music while you write? Do you make playlists to get into a certain "mood" to write your fic? Do you need noise in general? Or do you need it completely quiet?



Most of the time, whatever I'm doing, I have a Spotify playlist going. My usual one is here, for those who have Spotify and are interested. There's all sorts of stuff on there, from Abney Park and Blue Gillespie through to Oysterband and Vaughan Williams. I don't have mood music, but I do need music to be able to concentrate. This was a problem when I was having driving lessons, because driving teachers won't let you put the radio on.

I also have a 'writing list', which has mostly instrumental selections, but I've not found a difference between listening to instrumental and vocal music, so I go with the uberlong awesome playlist of awesome.

26 – What is the oddest (or funnest) thing you've had to research for a fic?

I listen to www.rainymood.com while I write. It works best for me somehow! That or just normal sounds/whatever (if I am in Starbucks or somewhere).

I haven't liked the sound of rain (except when it's really really heavy and it's just one big splat) since I was 7 and camping in my own tent for the first time and I thought it was going to flood. Family holidays are there to torment.
