I'm alive
This is what Winter does to me; I am hibernating. Today I was supposed to go to the bakery (for they feed me with yummy buns for not a lot of money) and to the supermarket (because I'm nearly out of cheese and have a caffeine withdrawal headache because I've run out of cola. And need to get some stuff dry cleaned). I'm also supposed to be going to a gig tonight, but going out really doesn't appeal. Dark, cold, wet? I have Sims.
My careers tutor seems to be completely useless. I have to submit my CV and covering letter for my first assignment by Monday, and she told us in the first week that we'd do it in class.
Yeah, that hasn't happened. We've sort of done covering letters, but that involved her showing us a presentation with a list of what needs to be in a covering letter and then talking to us and distracting us whilst we tried to write them, without actually helping. Oh, and whenever we ask for help she tells us that the information's in the module handbook - which it isn't.
So my task for this afternoon is to apply for a position I don't really want because we have to apply for something for this assignment. Whatever, it could be fun.
I also have to apply for a job I do want at my old café haunt, which is now a take-away. That just needs my CV and a covering letter, which I've written. CV is still to do, though.
The shopping thing isn't too big a worry, apart from the lack of cheese - I do use a lot of cheese. When I went shopping at the start of term I spent nearly £200 and bought enough food to last me through, apart from the stuff that needs renewing like fruit and vegetables, milk, bread and cheese. And I do actually have bread in the freezer to last me a while, and enough milk for hot chocolate and cereal for a couple of days.
I'm becoming a bit of an expert at leftovers cooking, and making different meals from one meat a week. The first week was a lump of gammon that did about six meals, then second was a box of mince that made six meals' worth of bolognaise, this week it's a box of breaded chicken things of various descriptions. Day 1 (Thursday, as I ate at home on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) was chicken pop things in a sweet and sour stir-fry, day 2 was chicken strips in fajita wraps, tonight it's probably chicken drumsticks with chips. If I have chips.
And then it's Sunday, and I treat myself to instant food with Top Gear on Sunday. Not decided what yet, but that's the treat of the week.
Isn't my life exciting?
On the writing front, I'm glaring at the new Jack_Ianto_LAS prompt and defenestrating the vague idea I have so far becasue it would be so obviously mine. Something will come, I'm sure. In the meantime, I'm trying to get a new chapter of my monster fic done so that I can get onto the passive-agressive awesomeness that will be Gwen facing off against my OFC.
And I should really get on with doing those applications. Blah

I did vote for the one that won, but I think yours was one of the top few.
And yeah, don't worry about not wanting to go out, I think sometimes we just have those days. I can have them in any season. You've probably worked hard at college and have stuff to do, it's the motivation that is difficult IMO.

And the reason it would be so obvious is because it's based on a song that only I would know.

I feel bad for NeedTakeHave as well. I really want to do something to help, but until I get myself settled and find out just what is happening with my hubs pay (it isn't the same one payday to the next) and just what we actually get, I just can't afford to. I have to buy the equivalent of new school uniforms worth of clothing for the kids next week for school. After a month paying for a hotel, I'm about tapped out.

Really, really wish there was more I could do, but out of three auctions I put myself up for, I got one bid, and I've already spent too much this term :( It's always a case of seeing what I've got left when the loan comes through, but a total computer failure has not made it likely this term.
