A few things about writing

First of all, I'm messing around with google docs (because I have loved it in the past, but don't have many google friends to play with it with :( I've uploaded my monster fic, which is just over 100k and unfinished in three parts, just to see if I could, and if I could edit it from my Blackberry. I can't.

So if you're really, really bored, my sandcastle is there to be trashed. I started writing it nearly two years ago when I was 18, so it needs some serious editing and possibly a total rewrite before I launch it on livejournal.

It also needs finishing, which brings me to...

My head is annoyingly full of stories. I can't escape them. There's a stack of Torchwood fanfictions, a smaller pile of Other fanfictions, then there's the growing pile of original fiction. Well, all the piles are growing, it's just that the original fiction pile is the most promising for actually making a career out of writing, which would be nice except that it would eat my fanfic writing time like no other job.

I don't want to write because it's easy, or because I want to be famous (although I do need excuses to wear my stupid number of dresses). I think that it's because I love to be in control, but cede control very readily to other people. I can be a leader, and probably quite a good one, but I will always step back for a more dominant personality, even if I think they're being stupid. With writing, I don't have to do that. I am in charge, even if the characters would sometimes argue, and no one is going to take that control from me. I say what happens to who and why, and they listen to me!

Of course, the problem I have at the moment is that I have more stories I want to write than I have time for, and a massive case of not being able to find the words to tell them. Ho hum, they'll come.

My goal at the moment is to finish Just A Mistake (the monster) and get my Big Bang fic at least plotted before I have to start on Jack_Ianto_LAS writing. I won't get JAM finished by then, because it's only a week and I have about 15 chapters to write, but I might have got them to Christmas morning, and hopefully I'll know how the murder was committed for my Big Bang. I feel this is crucial for a murder mystery, don't you?
