Catching up again

Hi, I disappeared for a while again, didn't I? I had an utterly mad weekend, which included the squishable Lizzy, a lovely wedding party, lots of morris dancing and spending too much money. Here are some photos of the morris dancing I was a witness to, including the morris session at dawn on Castle Hill to ensure a good summer for those of you here in the UK.

Soon to come: what I did at my party. Featuring miniature flans, deadly cupcakes and triangular sandwiches

Great photos! Was it a cold morning? How long did the dancing take? How many men in a Morris set?

It was very cold and quite breezy. I think they danced for about half an hour to an hour, and there's six men in a set most of the time, unless they're doing Mrs Casey or Bonny Off

So why do they do it at Castle Hill?
Any significance to the area?

It was an Iron Age hillfort, so there's a lot of history to it, but mostly it's just a really well-known landmark with great views and a good dancing area.

Well if summer is here then its time for you to get out your clogs and that big ole red skirt, grab the bagman and head for the morris circuit!
Have an ale for me (or two)!
