I get more harassment than attraction, in the way some bosses intimidate their staff. Jack is a bullying grievance waiting to happen.

Having said that, it's hard to know what the director intended. I just think maybe there isn't any chemistry between JB and EM, I find their scenes together the most cringeworthy in terms of bad acting, painful. Still clearly series 4 will see them getting together in a pairing reminiscent of Moonlighting in the lack of any actual passion.
