So I'm home

Yep, I walked out of the baggage collection area at Heathrow, with my two cases piled up on my baggage cart, my bright pink bag on my back and another bag on top of my cases, and was greeted by a sign reading...

"Muppet"

Thanks, Rick...

But I have survived New York, despite the snow that tried to trap me there and the general lethalness of the traffic in New York, and the fact that the pollution made me feel eally quite ill... New York, we are having words about how you blend awesome with awful when I get my brain back.

I spent the flight over making notes on the film I need to do for Reel_TW (because the first place I can get hold of it is, of course, on the flight back to the UK) and I owe people comments, which will come soon if I can find everyone I owe comments to. I need to do a torchwood_fest de-anon, too, which will happen around the same time.

But I am home, tomorrow is Christmas, I get to watch Doctor Who and Top Gear and eat turkey and chocolate and drink spiced cider, and enjoy having my family around. Yay!

Welcome home! At least you missed the worst of the weather here.

Thanks :) I will cry if I don't see snow in the UK this winter, though

I cried on seeing it because we had no heating and a burst pipe rendered my bedroom uninhabitable =(

God, that would be awful :( We had no heating at home for a while because of our fuckup of a builder, but nothing that bad. (And I was out of the country)
Is your heating fixed now?

Yeah, thankfully. Most of the people we contacted said they couldn't fit us in before mid-January (that was before Christmas), but then we found someone who said they would get us a fire and start work on December 22nd. They finished the job on Christmas Eve and were completely brilliant =D

I'm still sleeping on the lounge floor though - I'm not allowed to sleep in my room as the insurance company says the ceiling has to be replaced =(
That means I have to take EVERYTHING out of my room, and as there's nowhere else to put it all, everything I don't need has to go into storage (as well as most of the other stuff in the house as we need re-wiring and new windows and we've got TOO MUCH STUFF!) I'm trying to clear the box room so I can sleep in there, even though it's damp it will be better than an inflatable mattress on the floor! Trouble is, there's enough wool in there to start a wool shop, so it's taking some clearing!
