Well, 2020

So my dad died in January. Because he was an idiot who went to the doctor because he'd collapsed at the end of a walk, but didn't tell her he'd collapsed. If he'd told her that, or almost any of his other symptoms, he'd be grumpily recovering from a quadruple heart bypass right now. Instead... he isn't.

That's kind of my life right now. I moved back in with my mum to keep her company as a temporary measure, only nothing seems very temporary right now. My lovely lodgers, who I've barely met because of everything, are looking after my house and one of my cats. The other three are with me, my mum and her three cats and one dog. It's all a very delicate balancing act. The good thing about it is that it means that I am set up to work from home at her house, and now we've gone into isolation I'm here with her instead of a mile away but unable to see her.

Words. I don't have them right now.

Sorry to hear about your dad. It's always hard to lose a parent. Timing can be a funny thing, because yes it's good that you are able to be with your mother now. Best of a bad situation. You're lucky that you can work from home and be with her, and stay inside where it's safe. That's a blessing.
