I'm going to be closing the poll on Torchwood-related tourism in Cardiff this coming Friday (23.03), so if anyone still wants to be involved and hasn't filled in the survey, now's the time to do it.

The survey is here.

Thanks so much to everyone who's already filled it in. You're the best.

I'm looking for your opinions on Ianto's Shrine in Cardiff Bay here. And, as always, I'm looking for more people to fill in the poll here.

I'm also wondering if anyone would be interested in knowing more about what I'm doing and the theories behind it? I've not expanded on it in the community because I don't want to affect the results, but if you think it would be interesting I'm more than happy to do so.

I've launched an LJ community for the next stage of my research for my dissertation. I ran a test poll on here a couple of months ago, and got loads more responses than I expected, plenty to convince my tutor that I can carry out the full research. Now I need even more, to get enough data to analyse meaningfully. Please participate if you can and boost the signal to as many Torchwood fans as you can. My best-case scenario for this research is that I can get it published and go on to carry out more interest into niche tourism motivations - how awesome would it be to say that that started with Torchwood?

The community is at [livejournal.com profile] tw_tourists, and the first poll is already up. There will be more polls and discussion posts, so keep an eye out for those. I'm hoping to be in a position to ask for holiday stories and to-do recommendations by the end of the month.

Thanks so much for everyone who helps me out :D

(And can anyone tell me how to do one of those repost buttons to make signal boosting easier? LJ polls were about the limit of my capabilities.)

Help!

Okay, so it's posting day for my Torchwood Big Bang today. Unfortunately, I have a slight problem - it's not been beta'd. I was forgotten about *sniff* (to be honest, I've done it to her too. This is why I never volunteer as a beta any more). I'm prepared to make use of the amnesty period, but if anyone has nothing better to do today and could beta a 24,000 word fic in the next 14 hours, I would explode with squee and gratitude. Obviously, as it's so last minute it's just spelling and grammar (unless there's something which really doesn't make sense, in which case... bollocks). If you could beta it by the amnesty day but not by the end of today, that is also supercool and awesome.

Meanwhile, I'm going to flail a bit (a lot) and finish my next Big Bang. And then actually do some uni work. Shocking, I know. Expect fic from me sometime this week, whatever happens.

ETA: Thanks to Saria, Caladria and Lucy for coming to my rescue. You're all stars.

Apologies for absence:
I've gone missing, I know, I'm sorry. I am currently working on another Big Bang. Yes, you heard that right. My Torchwood Big Bang is with my betas, my Ianto Big Bang is... getting there. It's sufficiently finished to be a first draft, but not sufficiently finished for public consumption, posting starts soon, and hopefully I'll clear enough space in my schedule to be able to write some more Timelord!Ianto and get started on another bingo. Hopefully.

Anyway, there is stuff on its way.

Beta request:
Would anyone be prepared to beta two big bangs for me? They're both in Google Docs, and I have the fantastic [livejournal.com profile] ablatedcrayon looking over it for me, but I could also do with a Torchwood beta to tell me just how bad my characterisation is. It won't be that bad, I'm sure...

My google account is Galadriel1010, I'm on Google+ as well and would use Google chat if anyone ever wanted to talk to me, so even if you don't want to beta you can add me over there if that's your communication of choice.

And if you would like to beta it but don't want to beta it on Google I can always give you a Word Document or an OpenOffice file or something. Semaphore, smoke signals... although those could take a while.

I'm looking for a new game to play in which there is a sufficiently interesting crafting element. Details of what I'm looking for are hidden behind this rather lovely cut )

Help?

Okay, so I'm probably being really thick here. I got a copy of Sims 3 World Adventures today, and it's got a red tag in the middle of the side, where you'd normally put your thumbs to open it, and I can't work out how to get past it. Has anyone had a case like this and can you tell me how to get into it?

How will I cope with the game if getting into the box is this hard?

ETA: Not me being too dumb to live, they should have taken it off in the shop. Grrrr
